Spanish Project ( Machu Picchu)
Machu Picchu is a beautiful ancient site that was rediscovered in 1911. The Inca turned the site into a fairly large city that was hidden by the clouds above the Urubamba River. The site is surrounded by enough agricultural things to supply food for the Inca population. Tawantinsuyu was greatest empire of the Inca, being over 4300 miles wide, but the empire did not last even a century. The Inca was involved in many rival wars but never took over any of the rival's land other than when they defeated the Chankas. The defeat of the Chankas began a major building period for the Inca. The Inca built one of the largest and most spectacular empires in the entire world. While still trying to expand, the Inca would offer textiles, women, gifts, and rare products to the chiefs of different tribes as a bribe. Since the Inca had taken over so many tribes there were multiple languages and ethnicities. The Inca introduced their own language called Quechua so they could speak to each other. This language was used mainly by the government of the Inca. The Inca had a well established government control which is why the Inca was so successful. The Inca would move people around to different places depending on their skill in the textile, farming, or weaving industries. They also had a way of collecting but also distributing their taxes. The first part of their tax would be given to the gods. The second was basically for their construction of their empire. The third was distributed back to the people in food, textile, festivals, and military. The Inca had constructed roads for travel throughout their land. These roads improved transportation, military, and resources. The roads made it easier to access supplies in the mountains, jungles, or coastal area. To help feed the population the Inca had irrigation systems and rich soil to produce food. The Spanish was amazed at how intelligent with construction the Inca Empire was. In my own opinion the Inca Empire was well constructed, governed, and supported. The Inca people had to be extremely brilliant to construct roads and irrigation to allow for their empire to be the best. I am astonished by the things of the Inca and of how they were governed. I believe the Inca was the most intellectual and amazing empire to ever be discovered.
